ABOUT OUR HISTORY

"One of the Eight Social Wonders of Butler County" Award, 2010

The El Dorado Community Concert Association (ECCA) has always been a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to bringing our community world-class  performing artists at a reasonable ticket price.  Each year, our board of directors oversees the details necessary for staging the concerts.

The first concert season was in 1937-1938, and though faced with the end of the Great Depression and World War II, the association has never missed providing a series of three to five concerts.  Early concerts focused on classical performances, but soon expanded to offer varied entertainment - classical, pops, Broadway, jazz, and country.

Among our celebrated guests have been Mantovani, Russia’s Malinki Circus, Guy Lombardo, Riverboat Ragtime Review, Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Broadway Marionettes, Fred Waring and His Pennsylvanians, The Celtic Tenors, Richard Thomas   Theatre Ballet, The Limeliters, Chinese Golden Dragon Acrobats, Floyd Cramer, John Davidson, Presidio Brass, Woods Tea Company, Simply Sinatra, New Christy Minstrels, The Diamonds, Savannah Jack, The Blackwood Brothers, Cherish the Ladies, The Quebe Sisters, and Two On Tap.

The history of the El Dorado Community Concert Association is a history of its subscribers. The organization could not — and would not — exist without the support received each year from the people of El Dorado and the surrounding communities. Thanks also goes to the members of the Board of Directors, past and present, who work tirelessly each year, preparing and planning what they hope will be another exciting season.
